For over 50 years we have been offering our customers the best selection of fresh meats and a broad catalogue of top-quality products, always produced and cured with diligence and great care. Some highlights include our cured hams and pork loins and various types of hand-tied sausages, produced with no preservatives or artificial colours and always suitable for those on a gluten-free diet. In order to guarantee safe and healthy results, we apply rigorous quality controls during the entire production process, from feeding of the animals through to arrival of our products on the market.


At the end of the 1990s, efforts began to recover the Cerdo Celta breed in Galicia. Back then, as pioneers in the industry our goal was to apply our more than 50 years of experience in producing cured meats and sausages to the Cerdo Celta breed, so that we could bring the indigenous and natural flavour of the most traditional Galician gastronomy back into the homes of our customers. We began working on products made from Cerdo Celta pork, and we decided to label these as Teijeiro Selección. However, not being content with just this, we wanted to go one step further by carefully selecting the best lean cuts and using longer curing times, creating a gourmet line of products that we now call CERCEL.

Cárnicas Teijeiro’s CERDO CELTA RECOVERY project was born:

  • From the chestnut groves of Galicia, where the Cerdo Celta pigs live in harmony with nature as part of an ecosystem that is unique to the lands of Galicia.
  • From re-establishing a breed in its native territory after it had survived one of the most difficult eras in its history, when productivity and profitability were given precedence over quality, almost leading to its extinction.
  • From the commitment and hard work it takes to maintain the purity and quality of a breed.
  • From the experience of a third-generation family company that has learned how to safeguard the traditions and wisdom of its people.


The care we take with raising and feeding our animals allows us to offer this excellent beef from the Rubia Gallega breed, which is indigenous to Galicia. Coming from the Sarria Valley, our beef presents the perfect balance between lean and fat, with a smooth texture. It is never subjected to any processing other than refrigeration, where it remains for only 10 days or less to ensure preservation of its intense flavour. This is essential in order to satisfy the most demanding palates in any part of the world.
